GOP lawmakers outline $633 million in cuts, call for release of spending plan

Republican legislative leaders outline $633 million in potential budget savings for 2009-10 and call on Democratic leaders to release the proposed spending plan for this budget year. State House Minority Leader Paul Stam, R-Wake, and Senate Minority Leader Phil Berger, R-Rockingham, say a look at that spending plan would give them a chance to find even more savings. They delivered these remarks during a July 28, 2009, news conference.
